Thunderbird
The Thunderbird represents protection, power, and strength. He is considered the strongest of the totem animals, possessing supernatural power and credited with creating storms. When he blinks, lighting comes out of his eyes, and when he flaps his wings, thunder roars. He hunts and eats whales by using the two lightning snakes kept under his wings.
Hematite
The mineral form of Iron Oxide. Due to its iron content it can have a reddish tone, especially when ground up and mixed with water. It was used by ancient Greeks as a red pigment, and was named “haima”, which is Latin meaning blood. It is considered a strong grounding stone and offers protection to the wearer, imbuing strength, endurance, courage and vitality. Hematite is strongly tied to the earth; it helps to absorb negative energies holding you back and aids in developing logical thinking and organization.
Robert Cross
Born to the Eagle Clan of Haida. He is the son of renowned Gordon Cross, from whom he learned all aspects of Haida carving. From his cousin Nelson Cross he learned to work with metal and, since 1983 has worked in both silver and gold. His jewellery shows his talent and skill and the individuality of his style. Robert signs his artwork as B.Cross, as his friends call him Bob.
