Tourmaline is a crystal silicate mineral. It is a stone of understanding, in yourself and in others; promoting compassion and tolerance. Used by poets and creative artists during the Renaissance to the Victorian Era it was thought to inspire creativity, and help in getting over writers block. Even Shakespeare had a collection which he kept to help his writing.

Watermelon tourmaline is a unique combination of a green outer layer and pink center, mimicking the melon it’s named for. This is caused when a pink tourmaline is exposed to manganese and lithium during formation over time, causing the outer later to change colour.
