The Thunderbird represents protection, power, and strength. He is considered the strongest of the totem animals, possessing supernatural power and credited with creating storms. When he blinks, lighting comes out of his eyes, and when he flaps his wings, thunder roars. He hunts and eats whales by using the two lightning snakes kept under his wings.
A symbol of power, prestige and wisdom. The Eagle is believed to have the greatest connection to the creator and sends messages from the people to the spiritual world. It is a symbol of peace and leadership, the sacred down represents friendship and its feathers are used for ceremonies and rituals.
Born to Kwakiutl nation of Alert Bay, B.C., Mike has been carving silver jewellery since 1993. His teacher is his father Charles Harper, a well-known artist who has been carving for over 35 years.
