Pyrite

Pyrite, also called iron pyrite and fool’s gold, is an iron sulfide mineral. Its name “pyrite” comes from Greek, meaning “stone which strikes fire”, referring to its ability to create sparks when struck with steel. It is considered to be a protective, shielding stone, protecting both a person’s home and worn as an amulet against harm. Pyrite specifically is thought to protect the wearer from harsh criticism, manipulation and the control of others.
