Hummingbird

Joyful messengers who represent peace, affection, and good fortune. The Hummingbird is a living rainbow that captures the sunlight and turns it into a jewel on its wings, signifying love, beauty and healing. This tiny bird is also called "Sah Sen" and is considered good luck, especially if seen before a major event.

Lyle Campbell

Lyle Campbell was born in 1969 to the Sta-Sta-aas, Songalth Tribe of the Kaighani People of Haida Gwaii.  He is part of the Eagle clan and is the great grandson of Chief Edward Edenshaw.  He showed his love of art early, and began drawing at 8 and carving at 14 years old.  Lyle learned formal art and design at the famous Gitanmax School of Northwest Coast Art in K’san.  He works in numerous medias including gold, and silver engraving, wood and stone carving and print design.  During his career he has also been privileged to work with other well-known artists including, Robert Davidson and Henry Green.  Lyle has developed his own unique style by incorporating a contemporary feel to traditional Northwest Coast formlines.  His use of bold colors and fluid movement in his designs create a playful perspective while maintaining a connection to the natural world and Haida culture.
