MIKE MATILPI
Born to the Kwakwaka’wakw people and the Namgis nation in Alert Bay, B.C., Mike has been carving silver jewelry since 1993. He learned from his father Charles Harper, a Master Carver, who in turn learned from the famous Llyod Wadhams. Mike was further influenced and guided by his family of well-known carvers including Glen Harper, Doug Harper, George Matilpi, Dennis Matilpi, and Paddy Seaweed. Mike has developed his own unique style, known for clean lines and use of traditional styles.
