Gemstone: Tourmaline

Tourmaline is a crystal silicate mineral which comes in a variety of colours. It is a stone of understanding, in yourself and in others; promoting compassion and tolerance.

Used by poets and creative artists during the Renaissance to the Victorian Era it was thought to inspire creativity, and help in getting over writers block. Even Shakespeare had a collection which he kept to help his writing.

Tourmaline is the newer October birthstone.

Tourmaline is one of the gifts for 8th anniversary, and in particular, Pink Tourmaline is the gift for 4th anniversary.
