Gemstone: Citrine

Citrine is a type of quartz, ranging in color from yellows, to browns depending on its ferric content. The name is derived from the Latin word, “citrina” meaning yellow, and became popular as far back as 300 BC by Hellenistic Greeks.

It is known as the “merchant’s stone” or the “success stone”, as it is said to attract prosperity, wealth and success, especially in business. Citrine is a bright and energetic stone, which imparts joy, wonder and enthusiasm, helping to raise confidence and motivation.

Citrine is the second birthstone of November, and is one of the gifts for 11th and 13th anniversary.
