(Nation: Coast Salish) Wesley Wyse was born in Nanimo B.C. in 1980.
He and was taught by his late stepfather, Coast Salish artist Joe Becker, whom he worked with until 2009. He later learned carving and engraving techniques from artist Kelvin Thompson.
Wesley has developed his skills and carving techniques and has now established himself as a well known artist. He works in red and yellow cedar and carves totems, plaques, 3D sculpture and talking sticks.
His work is known for it’s a high attention to detail, fine line work and and a clean finish.
