Cristiano Bruno Matilpi was born in B.C. in 1981 of an Italian father and a first nation mother of Kwakiutl tribe Namsiis in Albert Bay. Raised in Italy for 12 years with early exposure to art and music.
By the age 15, he started to learn native carving. With the inspiration and guidance of his uncle Charles Harper, Cristiano has grown as a young artist. He has benefited by the encouragement of his uncle Dennis Matilpi, cousins Mike Matilpi, Carrie Mutilpi.
He is enjoying his carving career, loves Hummingbird, wolf, Killer Whale and Eagle.
