Owl

The Owl is highly respected as they are thought to represent the spirit of deceased ancestors, imparting their knowledge and acting as a bridge between the physical and spiritual worlds. Representing wisdom, intuition and sacred knowledge, they will sometimes bring warnings and prophecies to the people.

Moon

The Moon is seen in Northwest Coast mythology as a guardian and protector of the people, one of the most powerful beings. He acts as guide, and timekeeper, giving good luck and abundance to the people. The moon is often seen in a Ravens mouth which depicts a creation myth where the Raven releases the sun, moon, and stars into the sky. An eclipse is said to be a Codfish trying to swallow the moon.

Don Wadhams

Don was taught his carving technique by his uncle, Kwakiutl master carver Lloyd Wadhams Sr. in 1992. While he began as a wood carver, Don mainly works with metals at this point. He enjoys producing works that incorporate overlay, and contemporary smithing techniques.
