Killer Whale

Killer Whales or Orcas symbolize love of all types, representing romance, loyalty and close ties between family and friends. In myth the Orca is closely linked to humans; it is said that those lost at sea are transformed into these whales and have gone to live in a underwater village. Artie George

Artie is great nephew of Chief Dan George of Tsleil-Waututh nation (Burrard Band) and was born in North Vancouver. Both his miniature and full sized wood carvings are original works of art, which providing a fine, esthetic collection and representation of Northwest Coast native art designs. The unique, deeply carved masks, poles, boxes and other forms express Artie’s distinctive style. His art can be found in collections around the world, such as the major aboriginal conversions in Vancouver, Glenbow museum in Calgary, Anthropology museum in UBC.
